Requirements

  • Grade 12 qualification (provide documentary proof)
  • Permanent resident within the jurisdiction of Cape Town (provide documentary proof)
  • Proficient in English and at least one other official language
  • At least 18 years old and under 35 years old
  • Medically and physically fit to undergo strenuous physical training. Be aware of your health status and capabilities for fitness assessments, as excellent physical fitness and mental resilience are required
  • Able to work in a team and cope with stressful situations
  • No criminal record, no pending criminal cases or charges, and no involvement in conduct that may compromise integrity, suitability, or ability to perform duties. Any criminal conviction, pending matter, or circumstances affecting the City’s reputation or your capacity will make you ineligible
  • Valid driving license (minimum code B, manual transmission)
  • Successfully complete the Further Education and Training Certificate: Road Traffic Law Enforcement and Law Enforcement Skills Program SP4/2012
  • No tattoos visible when wearing the uniform
  • Unemployed at the date of enrolment at the college (7 January 2026)
