Environmental Officer Production Grade A: Coastal Zone Management

Requirements:

  • National Senior Certificate plus a National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Environmental Management or Natural Sciences. No experience required as per OSD standards; however, 1-2 years of relevant experience is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of policies and regulations related to Environmental Management.
  • Experience in Community-Based Natural Resource and Biological Diversity Management.
  • Skills needed: Computer literacy, good writing and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of key environmental laws, including the National Environmental Management Act, NEM Protected Areas Act, and NEM Biodiversity Act.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

Duties:

  • Provide technical support and advice to ensure compliance with coastal management laws, norms, and standards.
  • Review coastal authorization applications and handle compliance checks.
  • Offer technical and procedural advice on coastal management and use in the area.
  • Implement special programs.
  • Manage administrative tasks and related functions.
