Senior State Accountant: Expenditure and Accounts: Mavambe Secure Care Centre

Key Performance Areas

  • Provide financial budgeting services.
  • Ensure effective revenue and debt management.
  • Manage conditional grants and donor funding through proper processes.
  • Process payments.
  • Attend to audit and supplier queries.
  • Compile monthly and quarterly expenditure reports, as well as early warning reports.
  • Perform creditor reconciliations.
  • Monitor the payments register.
  • Advise on the transfer of funds in line with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).

Prerequisites

  • An appropriate qualification at NQF 6 or equivalent in Financial Management, Accounting, or Auditing, as recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • A valid motor vehicle driver’s license (except for persons with disabilities).

  • Knowledge of Public Service Regulations, Acts, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • Strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to handle pressure.

  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Policy analysis and interpersonal skills.
  • Report writing skills.
