Job Description

The Artisan Instrumentation Gr 1 role involves implementing unit operations plans, reporting on performance, complying with policies and processes, installing and maintaining instrumentation and equipment, managing expenditure, and ensuring safety and relationships with service providers.

• Implement the unit operations plan by understanding the plan and activities, including projects and key performance measures. Communicate with stakeholders and monitor daily implementation.
• Report on performance by tracking against targets, identifying progress and concerns, and submitting reports quarterly or as needed.
• Comply with policies by staying updated on them, attending training, and addressing queries daily.
• Follow processes by maintaining knowledge, applying correct procedures, and resolving issues daily.
• Install, align, and calibrate instrumentation and equipment by interpreting drawings and specifications, following instructions, testing, and completing administration on time.
• Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation systems by diagnosing faults, repairing, testing, and completing administration on time.
• Manage expenditure within budget by understanding budget components and approving spending in line with policy monthly.
• Monitor expenditure by reviewing reports, addressing concerns, and taking corrective action monthly.
• Comply with safety, health, and environmental (SHE) standards by maintaining knowledge and following requirements at all times.
• Maintain relationships with service providers by tracking service levels, monitoring delivery, identifying issues, and taking corrective action monthly or as required.

Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
• Trade Test Certificate Red Seal in Instrumentation
• Driver’s license
• 6 years’ experience in a chemical plant environment
• 5 years’ experience in instrumentation maintenance
