Professional Nurse: General – 18 Posts (5-Month Contract)

Salary:
- Grade 1: R324 384 – R382 107 per annum (OSD)
- Grade 2: R396 132 – R466 623 per annum (OSD)
- Grade 3: R476 367 – R610 662 per annum (OSD)
- The appropriate salary will be set based on the regulatory framework (OSD).

Requirements:
- A basic R425 qualification, such as a Degree or Diploma in Nursing, or an equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Proof of current registration with SANC.
- Experience:
- Grade 1: No experience needed.
- Grade 2: At least 10 years of relevant experience in nursing after registering as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
- Grade 3: At least 20 years of relevant experience in nursing after registering as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
Duties:
- Carry out nursing duties and functions effectively, following relevant laws and departmental policies.
- Provide and keep a safe and supportive environment for patients.
- Watch over patient activities and do standard nursing tasks as per hospital policies and procedures.
- Use a team-based approach to give complete care to patients and clients.
- Stay skilled in clinical work by using nursing care principles.
- Keep patient records accurate and complete, and protect confidentiality.
- Improve client satisfaction with quality service, new ideas, and professional nursing, while following Batho Pele principles and the Patient Rights Charter.
- Use resources in the unit efficiently and effectively.
- Give quality nursing care and take on management duties for the unit when the Operational Manager is away.
- Assess staff performance using the Employee Performance Management and Development System (EPMDS).
- Encourage, guide, and mentor nursing staff to help them grow professionally and improve service.
- Handle and control scheduled drugs as required by law and hospital rules.
- Be ready for day and night shifts as needed.
- Do any other tasks given by the supervisor to ensure good service.
