Job Description
Support and assist the store manager in managing the daily operations of an Mr Price Money Cellular store. Ensure that overall objectives, store targets, and customer service standards are met and exceeded.
Responsibilities
Stock Management
- Ensure that stock is accurately received and unpacked to merchandise and replenish the sales floor.
- Monitor and manage stock levels through defined processes (such as stock counts, stock takes, and stock loss action plans) to reduce risks and ensure enough stock is available.
- Oversee the maintenance of the stockroom to meet housekeeping standards.
- Assist with authorizing write-offs, breakages, recalls, out-of-box failures, cellular repairs, and returns.
Sales Growth and Profitability
- Analyze sales and profitability reports in the store to work with management on action plans, increase sales performance, and monitor store expenses.
- Monitor, review, and stay updated on in-store product performance to provide feedback to the support center and improve sales.
- Stay informed about new opportunities to increase sales and brand awareness, such as in-store marketing and competitor shopping.
- Drive credit, insurance, mobile, and cellular performance to meet the agreed budget.
Risk Management
- Assist the store manager in conducting compliance checks through defined processes (such as admin checks, store audits, visual audits, COMO reports, POS reports, health and safety standards, weekly hanger counts, and security) to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Customer Experience Management
- Ensure and maintain the implementation of customer experience processes (through business instruction letters, markdowns, repricing, promotions, customer experience plans, visual standards, customer feedback, and general housekeeping) to meet customer service standards.
Leadership and Development
- Lead and motivate the team in the store to achieve store KPIs and operational strategy in line with company values.
- Identify and address training, coaching, and development needs, with a focus on talent management and succession planning.
- Recruit, manage, and administer performance in line with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- NQF level 4 (Grade 12) or equivalent.
- 3 years’ experience in retail (management experience is an advantage).
- Understanding of sales and service management.
- Budgeting skills.
- Computer literate.
- Good communication skills.
- Understanding of retail trade.
- Knowledge of brand, customer service, cellular, mobile, new accounts, and insurance products.
