Overall Purpose of the Job

This trainee position offers training in key areas of Aviation Security Personnel Certification. You will learn about data acquisition and administration for Aviation Security Service Organisations (ASSOs), data analysis, and communication skills.

Data Acquisition and Administration, ASSO Matters

  • Design and maintain databases and data systems.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through cleansing and validation.

Data Analysis and Interpretation

  • Analyze data using statistical techniques to find trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Interpret findings and turn them into useful insights.
  • Develop data analysis strategies and models.

Communication and Reporting

  • Create clear reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Use data visualization to make information easy to understand.
  • Work with teams to meet business needs.

Main Outputs and Responsibilities

Review Screener Certification Application Forms

  • Check that all applications meet Part 110 requirements and include supporting documents like training records, medical reports, and on-the-job training (OJT) reports.

Data Clean-Up of Screener Records

  • Update screener lists to assign them correctly to ASSOs and areas of operation.

Maintain Screener Portal

  • Ensure portal information matches systems like PEXO and EMPIC. Report any issues to the IT department.

Release Screener Examinations on PEXO

  • Release exams 15 minutes before scheduled times, including both regular and special sessions.

Stakeholder Engagements

  • Respond to queries and requests according to service standards. Provide certification results, letters, and proforma invoices for training.

Reporting

  • Keep the annual screener examination schedule updated.
  • Submit monthly schedules for approval.
  • Prepare monthly reports on examination statistics.
  • Update screener lists on portals and tools like SharePoint.

Coordinate OJT Personnel Workshops

  • Review OJT certification applications against Part 110 criteria.
  • Prepare workshop presentations and submit for review.
  • Provide lists of approved applicants.
  • Handle administrative tasks during workshops.

Surveillance Activities

  • Perform initial, scheduled, ad hoc, and follow-up audits for ASSOs.
  • Complete EMPIC surveillance reports.

Approvals of ASSOs

  • Handle ASSO application requests.
  • Verify applications and compile packs.
  • Prepare ASSO approval certificates.

Requirements

Education

Minimum:

  • National Diploma in Education or relevant NQF Level 6 Qualification.

Ideal:

  • Degree in Education, Business Administration, Management, and Aviation Security Certificate.

Experience

  • 1 year of administration experience.
  • Aviation security experience is an advantage.
