Job Purpose

The Department of Local Government in the Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to provide efficient and effective supply chain management within the department.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).

Key Performance Areas

  • Provide efficient and effective bid administration support.
  • Provide efficient and effective Electronic Procurement Solution (EPS) support.
  • Render contract management support.
  • Render logistical support.

Competencies

  • A good understanding of supply chain management duties and practices, including the ability to capture data, operate computers, and collect statistics.
  • Knowledge of the legislative framework governing the Public Service.
  • Understanding of work procedures in the working environment.
  • Familiarity with Public Service financial legislations, processes, and procedures, National Treasury Regulations, and Provincial Treasury Instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of operating systems such as LOGIS, EPS, or similar systems.
  • Skills needed: Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); communication (written and verbal); interpersonal relations; flexibility; accuracy; planning and organising; numeracy; problem-solving; ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Remuneration

  • R 228 321 – R 268 950 per annum (Salary level 5)
