The role involves meeting store sales targets, providing excellent customer service, and managing all retail store operations in line with company standards and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Achieve sales growth and meet targets by managing, mentoring, and leading the team.
- Work with sales merchandisers, representatives, and regional managers to review sales strategies and results.
- Ensure outstanding customer service to create a “wow” experience for every shopper.
- Address each customer’s unique needs and always prioritize the customer.
- Build, motivate, and inspire teams with enthusiasm.
- Maintain staff performance by recruiting, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results.
- Approve all work schedules, including shifts, breaks, and leave.
- Provide ongoing training and development for all staff.
- Schedule and assign tasks to employees and follow up on results.
- Handle customer complaints calmly and professionally.
- Manage daily store operations to boost sales while keeping expenses and stock within budget.
- Minimize all controllable costs and expenses.
- Protect company assets and reduce shrinkage, damage, and theft.
- Implement plans to achieve sales goals and motivate staff to contribute.
- Keep accurate records of stock and financial transactions.
- Perform daily floor walks and manage stock replenishments and displays.
- Follow, monitor, and enforce all standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain company standards for merchandise and store cleanliness.
- Coordinate with key service providers, such as security, cleaning, and logistics, to meet company expectations.
- Ensure smooth execution of all sales promotions, including roadshows and partnerships.
- Spot marketing opportunities and share them with relevant teams.
- Plan and carry out promotions on time.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric Certificate
- Reliable transport to work for shift-based hours
- At least 3 years in a management role within retail
