Job Purpose:

  • Apply electrical and electronic engineering principles to research, evaluate, and help design and implement strategies for the Electrical Network Management System at intermediate and high levels.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Provide feedback on options and alternatives for the design and implementation strategy of Network Information and Electronic Management Systems for integrated, advanced, and critical electrical networks.
  • Manage or carry out high-level interpretation of principles and techniques for integrated and advanced Network Information and Electronic Management Systems in complex areas.
  • Share information on the technical and professional aspects of network management.
  • Apply electronic engineering principles to manage the real-time operating environment, including complex hardware, software, networks, and auxiliary technology for Network Information and Electronic Management Systems.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms regarding quality, cost, and timing for complex or integrated electronic engineering projects.
  • Offer guidance on principles, procedures, and applications for managing high-level integrated and advanced systems.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (NQF Level 8) in Computer or Electronic Engineering or equivalent from a university recognized by the Council on Higher Education.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Engineer) with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
  • Valid motor vehicle driving license.
  • 3 years of post-qualification experience in the electricity distribution or transmission industry.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 4 years of post-qualification experience in SCADA, Electronic Systems Planning, Software Development, Implementation, or Maintenance.
