Job Purpose

The main goal of this role is to drive company vehicles and deliver goods and materials to the right places. You will load products safely, deliver them on time while following all traffic rules and safety guidelines, and unload them at customer sites.

Main Responsibilities

Vehicle Maintenance

• Check the vehicle every week
• Complete vehicle inspection checklists correctly
• Report any issues right away to the Warehouse Supervisor
• Keep fuel use within company standards
• Always keep the vehicle clean and in good condition

Loading, Driving, and Offloading the Vehicle

• Help pack and load products onto the vehicle as per company rules
• Check the quality of loaded products
• Make sure the right stock is loaded based on the invoice
• Secure goods properly on the vehicle
• Deliver orders to customers on time and complete, using efficient routes
• Plan routes effectively
• Keep accurate records of deliveries and get all paperwork signed and returned
• Fill out trip sheets before leaving and get approval
• Get delivery confirmations from customers and submit signed PODs to the admin office daily
• Unload products at customer sites as required
• Pre-load vehicles for next-day deliveries
• Collect returns and credits as needed, and complete all paperwork accurately
• Fill out and sign Credit Return Slip Vouchers properly
• Always follow the Road Traffic Act
• Obey all traffic laws and drive safely
• Report any traffic violations to the Warehouse Supervisor immediately
• Keep your driver’s license and PrDP valid at all times

Customer Service

• Communicate clearly with dispatchers, team members, and customers for smooth and timely deliveries
• Promote H Systems products to current and potential customers
• Follow customer site rules
• Share potential sales opportunities with the branch
• Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally during deliveries

Warehouse Assistance

• Help in the warehouse as needed for operations
• Wrap products properly to protect them
• Keep stock organized, binned, and displayed neatly
• Do stock counts when required

SHEQ Integrated Management System Control

• Follow the OHS Act
• Take care of your own health and safety, and that of others
• Work with the employer to meet safety duties
• Follow all lawful orders and safety rules
• Report unsafe or unhealthy situations to the employer
• Report incidents to the employer
• Follow health and safety processes
• Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and hygienic
• Maintain high housekeeping standards
• Wear PPE in the warehouse at all times
• Keep vehicles clean
• Join any Integrated Management System activities as needed
• Spot and report improvements, issues, and incidents in your area
• Follow all company policies and procedures
• Maintain high customer service standards

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Valid Code 8 (B) driver’s license and PrDP

Experience

• 2 years in a similar driver role
• 3 years in operations or warehousing

Knowledge Requirements

• Understanding of legal rules for drivers, including the Road Traffic Act
• Awareness of ISO standards relevant to the job
