PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The delivery driver safely operates the assigned truck, checks it for roadworthiness before trips, verifies and delivers goods on time, communicates effectively, follows safety and compliance rules, provides great customer service, and helps ensure smooth transportation of goods.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Keep detailed records of daily activities, such as mileage, fuel use, delivery receipts, and any incidents. Follow company policies and regulations.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, warehouse staff, and others. Address questions or concerns about deliveries quickly and politely.
  • Report any vehicle problems or maintenance needs right away and follow procedures for repairs.
  • Follow all company policies on vehicle use, safety, and behavior.
  • Obey traffic laws and other regulations.
  • Keep the truck clean, organized, and stocked with needed tools and documents. Clean it regularly and remove any clutter.
  • Follow safety rules and wear proper protective gear to reduce risks.
  • Help create a safe work environment and support safety efforts.
  • Operate safely at all times.
  • Join meetings and training sessions, and work with the team to meet goals.
  • Support the team’s overall success.

REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent.
  • At least 3-5 years in a similar role, preferably in the FMCG retail industry.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships, while living the company values and HO HOLA culture.
  • Friendly, helpful, confident but humble, and a good team player.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written).
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Accurate with strong attention to detail.
