Senior Project Co-ordinator
Salary: R496 452 – R644 436 per annum (T13)

This position is based at the George Local Municipality in the Western Cape, South Africa. The role involves overseeing housing projects, ensuring compliance with strategies and legislation, and managing administrative and financial aspects to deliver effective public services.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate.
- A one-year project management certificate, or a B-Tech, or a Post Graduate Diploma in project management.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience.
- Computer literacy in MS Office.
- A valid Driver’s License.

Key Performance Areas:
In this role, you will be responsible for the following duties to ensure the smooth operation and success of housing programs:
- Aligning George Municipality’s housing programs with the Human Settlements Strategy, Integrated Development Plan (IDP), and relevant legislation.
- Maintaining proper record-keeping for all projects.
- Handling all administrative processes related to projects and ensuring full compliance with requirements.
- Applying and complying with administrative, departmental, and municipal procedures and guidelines in all transactions and activities.
- Meeting financial objectives in line with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA).
- Adhering to an effective contract management system for all projects implemented in the section.
- Implementing internal control processes and addressing any discrepancies or exceptions identified by internal audits within the Directorate.
- Improving compliance with health and safety standards in the section.
- Carrying out Emerging Risk Management according to the municipality’s ERM policy, strategy, and implementation plan. This includes promoting a culture of change, adopting risk management in daily activities, and educating stakeholders on the importance of managing risks when dealing with public funds.
- Complying with administrative procedures for reporting requirements related to the section’s functions.
- Identifying and addressing human resources needs to support objectives, while ensuring compliance with standards for productivity and performance.
- Providing information, handling queries, complaints, advice, or opinions on relevant matters. This involves communicating through various mediums and offering clear, accurate explanations.
