Job Summary:
The Night Supervisor is responsible for the overall management of the hospital during night shifts. This role ensures a safe and secure environment for all patients, staff, and visitors. In the absence of other managers, the Night Supervisor handles all key operational activities. This includes following company policies, procedures, and all relevant legal requirements. The position also involves mentoring, training, and developing night staff to build their skills.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree or diploma in Nursing.
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- Any management or relevant business education.
- Updated certifications in ACLS, PALS, ATLS, or BLS.
- At least 5 years of experience at a managerial or supervisory level.

- Put the nursing strategy into action to support the overall nursing plan. Align the work of night staff to meet these goals. Assess patient needs in all wards during the night and plan resources for the next day.
- Watch over the safety and quality of care provided by staff, including agency workers. Look for ways to improve quality and make changes to enhance service delivery at night.
- Carry out regular rounds in the wards. Check equipment, perform audits, and inspect the patient environment to ensure everything is safe and clean.
- Manage after-hours admissions. Keep accurate records and ensure a smooth handover to the day shift the next morning.
