Purpose of the Job

  • Medirite Plus Daspoort is looking for a Pharmacy Sales Assistant who is customer-focused, hardworking, and adaptable to ensure the smooth operation of in-store retail activities.
  • The ideal candidate should have excellent customer service skills and enjoy interacting with customers. The role involves greeting customers, arranging visual displays, processing refunds, and identifying customer needs to suggest suitable products.

Job Objectives

  • Handle payments and balance sales and receipts according to company procedures.
  • Stay aware of new products and keep product knowledge up to date.
  • Restock items and organize the sales floor following standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct regular price audits to identify and fix any discrepancies.
  • Process customer payments using the store’s Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Maintain product knowledge to provide advice and recommendations.
  • Keep up to date with all promotions and special offers.
  • Uphold visual merchandising standards.
  • Perform proper housekeeping duties.
  • Handle customer queries promptly and escalate to higher management when needed.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Grade 12 qualification

Experience

Essential:

  • At least 5 months of point of sale or till point experience in a retail environment.
  • Proven track record in retail sales, including experience on the sales floor and at the cash counter.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Solid understanding of customer service principles.
  • Knowledge of stock receiving procedures and merchandising standards.
  • Computer literate.
  • Bilingual, preferably fluent in Afrikaans and English.
  • Engaging and friendly personality.
  • Knowledge of payment procedures (e.g., cash, cheque, bank card, credit cards, coupons, vouchers).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
