Close Protection Officer

Icebolethu Security, part of the Icebolethu Group, is looking for a skilled Close Protection Officer to protect our Very Very Important Persons (VVIP) and executives. In this role, you will monitor, safeguard, and conduct surveillance to ensure their safety. You will detect suspicious behavior, prevent harm, interruptions, or threats, and stop any criminal activities.

As a Close Protection Officer (CPO), you must be trained in principle protection, early threat detection, surveillance, and avoidance tactics. You will maintain the high standards of our principals’ social standing while inspiring respect and authority. The ideal candidate has excellent observation skills and helps uphold top protocols for protection.

Minimum Qualifications:

Matric certificate
Registered with PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority) at Grade C, B, or A
Valid Driver’s License held for more than 5 years
Firearm Business Competency for handgun, shotgun, or rifle
Advanced Driver competency (especially for Range Rover vehicles)
Regulation 21 certification
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office is advantageous
Good communication skills and personal hygiene

Required Experience and Skills:

At least 2 years of experience as a Close Protection Officer or Protector
Knowledge of legal guidelines for the bodyguard industry and public safety
Strong report writing skills
High situational awareness and vigilance (including good eyesight)
Risk assessment and detail orientation

Quick reflexes and combat training
