Job Summary
An opportunity exists for an experienced Petroleum Tanker Driver to operate a motor vehicle with a gross vehicle mass or gross combination mass exceeding 25,000 kg. Please review the minimum requirements, duties, and responsibilities below for more details.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4, or Grade 10 / NQF Level 2
- Code EC PrDP – “D” if required to operate a dangerous goods vehicle
- At least 3 years of experience as a petroleum driver
- Safe driving record and clean criminal record
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles for trips
- Operate ultra heavy-duty vehicles
- Perform vehicle inspections before and after trips
- Handle documentation from dispatch to the customer and back to the distribution center
- Take full responsibility for the roadworthiness of the vehicle when leaving the depot
- Be prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Account for all goods being transported to the customer
- Follow all other reasonable instructions from the supervisor
