Education: Bachelor’s Honours Degree (NQF8) in Aquaculture/Agriculture/Ichthyology or related field
Key Requirements:
- Professional registration with SACNASP as Natural Scientist
- Expertise in aquaculture systems, fisheries management, and aquatic health
- Proven research skills with peer-reviewed publications
- Data analysis proficiency using statistical software
- Valid driver’s license
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead aquaculture and inland fisheries research initiatives
- Develop technical reports and policy recommendations
- Monitor research programs and breeding optimization
- Manage stakeholder relationships and sector partnerships
- Mentor junior staff and students
Critical Skills:
- Advanced scientific analysis
- Biosecurity protocols implementation
- Research methodology development
- Project management
