Heavy Duty Driver

Amatola Water, an essential water services utility in the Eastern Cape, is seeking a qualified and experienced Heavy Duty Driver to join their team in East London.

Job Type: Full Time

Location: East London, Eastern Cape

Key Requirements:

  • Grade 12 qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an operator/heavy-duty driver
  • Valid Code C/EC1/EC Licence (previous Code 10/11/14)
  • Valid Public Driver’s Permit (PDP)
  • Valid TLB/digger-loader certificate from an accredited provider
  • Proof of training in operation of high-up, forklift, or truck-mounted crane
  • Proof of training in operation of mini excavator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy-duty machinery such as TLB, mini excavator, and truck-mounted crane
  • Load and offload goods using a forklift
  • Transport dangerous goods following safety procedures
  • Drive vehicles including rollback trucks, water tankers, and tipper trucks
  • Dig trenches and manholes for pipeline construction
  • Clean trenches for pipe laying and concrete structure installation
  • Repair damaged fences caused by construction or maintenance
  • Maintain and repair equipment regularly
  • Ensure safe lifting practices and proper use of tools
  • Follow all reasonable instructions from line manager/supervisor
