Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Eye Clinic Manager to oversee the operations of the Phelophepa Eye Clinic, which provides essential eye care services to rural communities across South Africa. The ideal candidate will manage daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with HPCSA and Transnet policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Effectively manage all aspects of the Eye Clinic, including supervision of staff and students.
• Ensure compliance with HPCSA and Transnet policies while maintaining high operational efficiency.
• Provide training and development opportunities for students, focusing on skill improvement rather than patient numbers.
• Monitor and maintain clinic equipment, instruments, and laboratory machines.
• Coordinate with local healthcare professionals for referrals and further medical management of ocular pathology cases.
• Prepare detailed reports on clinic activities and student performance for Transnet Foundation and training institutions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor of Optometry Degree (Postgraduate qualification is an advantage).
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
• Registration with the HPCSA.
• Valid Code 08 driver’s license.
