Position Purpose
The Resident Optometrist will oversee and deliver eye care services onboard our mobile clinic and through outreach programs in rural South African communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee students providing eye care services at the clinic
- Plan logistics for eye screening sessions and health awareness events
- Manage equipment, stock, and vehicle maintenance for the mobile clinic
- Supervise and guide students during patient consultations
- Coordinate outreach programs, including stakeholder meetings and transportation logistics
- Monitor laboratory operations and maintain accurate records
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Optometry Degree
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
- Valid Code 08 driver’s license

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Clinical supervision and optometric skills
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
