Position Purpose
Provide specialist academic support through design, manufacturing, and maintenance of scientific equipment for research and educational activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and repair specialized laboratory equipment
- Redesign existing apparatus for improved functionality
- Create technical drawings using 3D CAD software
- Maintain workshop equipment and inventory control
- Implement safety protocols and maintain documentation
Requirements
- Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (NQF 7)
- 2+ years’ experience in precision manufacturing
- Proficiency in Inventor/SolidWorks CAD systems
- CNC programming and welding skills
- Valid driver’s license
