EPWP: Truck Driver

Umzimvubu Municipality is a local municipality within the Alfred Nzo District Municipality, in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The name “Umzimvubu” comes from the Mzimvubu River, meaning “home of the hippopotamus” in isiXhosa. The municipality covers an area of 2506 square kilometres.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 10 qualification
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • C1 & PDP Clearance Certificate
  • Proof of residence
  • Ward Councillor’s confirmation
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Truck Driver
  • Ability to work under pressure

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive municipal trucks
  • Collect refuse around town
  • Maintain the municipal truck properly
  • Log official trips in the logbook
  • Conduct and record truck safety inspections
  • Inform supervisor of service or repair needs
