Position Overview
We seek a PhD-qualified researcher to lead pest control projects focusing on vegetable and industrial crops. This role combines laboratory work, field research, and collaboration with agricultural stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage integrated pest management research projects
- Secure research funding through grant proposals
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals (minimum 3-5 publications)
- Develop eco-friendly pest control solutions
- Mentor junior researchers and students
- Collaborate with national/international agricultural partners
Essential Requirements
- PhD in Entomology, Nematology, or Crop Protection
- 3+ years post-MSc research experience
- Proven success in securing research funding
- Experience with vegetable/industrial crop protection systems
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- NRF research rating
- Professional registration with relevant scientific body
- Experience with commercial agriculture projects
