Collections Manager: Natural History, Cenozoic Paleontology & Geology

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in relevant field (Honours preferred)
  • 3+ years museum collection management experience
  • 2+ years in supervisory/management role
  • Demonstrated expertise in Natural History collections care

Core Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Implement collections management strategies
  • Oversee departmental financial planning
  • Ensure compliance with museum governance standards

Collections Stewardship:

  • Develop preservation policies and procedures
  • Manage risk mitigation and disaster planning
  • Coordinate collection documentation projects

Operational Management:

  • Lead daily collection operations
  • Supervise departmental staff
  • Oversee research access and specimen handling
