**Category Management Manager – Facilities**

**Position Purpose**

  • Develop and execute category strategies for assigned spend categories, including supplier negotiations and team support.
  • Analyze internal demand and external market dynamics to shape category strategies.
  • Ensure procurement performance meets KPIs, including savings targets.
  • Lead and engage the category team to maintain high performance standards.

**Role Overview**

  • Oversee the creation and review of category purchasing strategies.
  • Develop business change strategies to improve procurement operations.
  • Implement strategic plans to drive procurement excellence.
  • Manage the entire procurement cycle, from sourcing to contract drafting.
  • Maximize value and economies of scale in supplier expenditure.
  • Build and manage strong supplier relationships.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement and supplier risks.
  • Monitor performance against SLAs and KPIs.

**Qualifications and Experience**

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (MBA advantageous).
  • 6 – 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain.
  • 3 – 5 years in a middle management role.
  • Experience in public sector procurement (PFMA, PPPFA).
  • MCIPS certification and CIPS membership are advantageous.
  • Driver’s license required; willingness to travel.

**Competencies**

  • Participate in strategic decision-making and govern SCM processes.
  • Set vision and direction for the SCM function.
  • Develop systems to execute SCM policies effectively.
  • Direct and manage staff to achieve company objectives.
  • Share knowledge of SCM principles and best practices.
  • Manage inputs for governance frameworks and policies.
