Key Details:

• Qualification: Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent

Responsibilities:

• Offload inbound vehicles using a forklift and stack stock in the warehouse.
• Pre-inspect vehicles and stock for contamination before offloading.
• Meet vehicle turnaround time targets and ensure no stock or pallets are damaged during handling.

Sorting, Stacking, and Loading of Pallets:

• Offload and inspect empty pallets, sorting them according to CHEP standards.
• Count and report empty pallets daily.
• Maintain a neat and organized pallet area.
• Correctly stack and store pallets, wrapping broken pieces for safe loading.

Loading of Vehicles:

• Pre-inspect vehicles for contamination before loading.
• Assist with loading stock onto vehicles as instructed.
• Adhere to vehicle turnaround times.
• Ensure stable and even weight distribution during loading.

Forklift Safety and Maintenance:

• Conduct daily inspections of the forklift (battery, water, oil, hydraulic oil, lights, etc.).
• Check the condition of tires and brakes.
• Report any faults or damage to the supervisor immediately.
• Observe warehouse speed limits and handle products carefully.

Additional Duties:

• Clean the forklift regularly.
• Arrange for maintenance when needed.
• Assist with monthly stock counts and other tasks as required.
• Be willing to work extended shifts when necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid forklift license and up-to-date medical clearance.
• Familiarity with CHEP pallet standards.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• High level of integrity and reliability.
• Ability to collaborate within a team and work proactively.
