Position Summary
The purpose of this role is to transport fresh produce from the factory to customer distribution centers safely and efficiently while maintaining product quality and adhering to safety requirements. Key responsibilities include ensuring timely deliveries and pickups.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation & Delivery
- Load, transport, and offload produce at customer DCs
- Follow delivery schedules and optimize routes for on-time arrivals
- Verify delivery notes before departure
Vehicle Maintenance & Safety
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Report maintenance issues
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and food safety standards
Compliance with Safety & Traffic Regulations
- Adhere to road safety and traffic laws
- Follow company policies on safe driving
Documentation & Reporting
- Complete delivery notes accurately
- Submit documentation in a timely manner
Customer Service
- Interact professionally with customers
- Address customer concerns regarding deliveries
- Maintain updated driving licenses and permits
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Valid Code 14 Driver’s License with PDP
- Minimum 2 – 3 years of truck driving experience
- Experience in fresh produce or FMCG industry is an advantage
- Familiarity with GPS navigation and route planning
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance
