About Us:

Breede Valley Municipality is a Western Cape government institution established under the Municipal Structures Act. We provide essential emergency services to protect lives and property in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Emergency Control Centre (ECC) & Emergency Operations Centre (EOC)
  • Oversee technical safety operations and resource management
  • Coordinate fleet maintenance and equipment inventory
  • Ensure compliance with Fire Brigade Services Act and safety regulations
  • Supervise support staff and emergency communication systems
  • Develop service improvement plans and operational procedures
  • Maintain Occupational Health & Safety standards

Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Fire Service Technology/Engineering (SAESI/IFE equivalent)
  • Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Valid C1 Driver’s License with PrDP
  • 6+ years fire service experience
  • Proficiency in two Western Cape official languages
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office)
  • Clear criminal record and medical fitness

Selection Process:

Candidates must complete practical assessments including:
– Written examination
– Scenario-based computer test
– Physical evaluation
