Position: General Manager – Community Development Services (CDS)

Position Overview:

Employment Type: Full Time (Permanent)
Location: Mpumalanga Province
Department: Community Development Services
Reporting To: Municipal Manager

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12/Matric Certification
• NQF Level 7 Degree in Social Sciences/Public Administration/Law or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• 5+ years senior management experience in public/private sector transformation
• Clean criminal record
• Completion or capacity to complete CPMD/MFMP program within 18 months

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Community Development/Social Sciences
• SACSSP registration (or equivalent professional body)

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee critical service delivery functions:
  • Public health programs
  • Environmental management
  • Recreational facilities operations
  • Public safety initiatives
• Develop and manage annual departmental budgets
• Lead intergovernmental collaboration with provincial/national stakeholders
• Implement data-driven performance monitoring systems
• Drive innovation in municipal service delivery models
