Senior ISD Officer Opportunity – Harry Gwala District Municipality

Harry Gwala District Municipality, serving South West KwaZulu-Natal across 11,127 km², seeks qualified candidates for a community development role. Our district forms part of the KZN-Eastern Cape border region.

Position Details:

  • Employment Type: Full Time
  • Education Requirements: Matric + National Diploma (NQF 6) in Social Science or related field
  • Experience: 3+ years (Local Government experience advantageous)
  • Location: KwaZulu-Natal
  • Department: Project Management

Key Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of municipal operations

Core Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate community participation in development projects
  • Manage stakeholder engagement between communities and technical teams
  • Monitor implementation of sanitation service upgrades
  • Organize community workshops and training programs
  • Attend provincial and district development meetings
