Job Purpose:

  • To coach and lead a team to achieve agreed goals by developing the skills of each team member.
  • To manage team performance, provide feedback, and demonstrate the expected work ethic and skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of Shoppers and Drivers to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Conduct spot checks on uniforms, orders, attendance, and adherence to processes.
  • Prepare and submit reports on attendance and performance.
  • Resolve daily operational issues with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Support the team in special projects for improved efficiency and growth.
  • Ensure best practices and protocols in logistics.
  • Manage daily and weekly KPIs for on-time delivery.
  • Train and develop Shoppers.
  • Demonstrate consistent use of internal procedures.
  • Work flexibly to meet both personal and organizational goals.

Staff Management:

  • Create schedules for efficient order management.
  • Hold regular team meetings to boost motivation and communication.
  • Ensure all staff arrive on time.
  • Provide training and coaching for staff needing improvement.
  • Manage and resolve queries submitted to head office promptly.
  • Identify training needs and arrange suitable programs.

Complaints Management:

  • Assist with and resolve queries from Shoppers and Drivers.
  • Handle escalated customer complaints.
  • Provide feedback to the Area Manager on unresolved issues.
  • Investigate and respond to shopper queries.
  • Prevent potential problems by taking proactive steps.
  • Collaborate with others to solve problems.

Reporting:

  • Provide weekly updates on staff performance.
  • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of reports.
  • Review weekly reports on complaints and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Eligible to work in South Africa.
  • A valid South African driver’s license or Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
  • Clean driving record.
  • Must have your own vehicle or motorbike (registered).
  • Access to a recent smartphone (iPhone 5 or Android 4.4 or newer).
  • 2-3 years of Team Leader experience.
