Position Overview:
The Overberg District Municipality’s Community Services Directorate (Roads Services Department) seeks two qualified Diesel Mechanics for permanent positions. Successful candidates will join our team in Bredasdorp immediately after the selection process.
Essential Requirements:
- Valid Trade Test Certificate in Diesel Mechanics
- 3-5 years’ post-apprenticeship experience
- EC Driver’s License with valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit)
- Preferred additional skills: Auto-electrical systems, Hydraulics, Air brake systems maintenance
- Bilingual proficiency in two Western Cape official languages
Primary Responsibilities:
- Execute complex mechanical repairs and maintenance
- Supervise junior staff and workshop operations
- Maintain earth-moving equipment and municipal vehicles
- Ensure compliance with OHASA safety standards
- Manage inventory of mechanical parts and tools

Salary & Benefits:
Annual Package: R 356,244 (T-11 Scale)
