Position Details

Remuneration: Competitive package aligned with Local Government regulations (Category 2 Municipality). Note: Municipality may apply for remuneration deviation.

Core Requirements

• Education: Matric + BSc Engineering/BTech (Masters preferred)
• Experience: 8+ years (5 years middle management + 3-4 professional engineering)
• Registration: Engineering professional body (advantageous)
• Certification: National Treasury Competency Certificate (or obtain within 18 months)
• Licenses: Valid driver’s license

Technical Expertise

• Infrastructure development & maintenance
• Public sector project management
• Municipal engineering regulations
• Strategic capital investment planning
• Electrical infrastructure management

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical services department operations
• Develop infrastructure master plans aligned with municipal IDP
• Oversee capital projects from planning to implementation
• Manage municipal engineering assets and services
• Ensure compliance with MIG/INEP funding requirements
• Reduce electricity service backlogs
• Implement performance management systems
