The Bank of Botswana invites qualified candidates to apply for this critical currency management position responsible for maintaining the integrity of Botswana’s physical currency circulation.
Position Purpose
To professionally receive, verify, and safeguard all currency deposits from authorized Vault Custodians while maintaining stringent quality control standards for banknotes and coins in circulation.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute secure currency handling procedures in alignment with central bank protocols
- Conduct detailed verification processes for all incoming currency deposits
- Implement anti-pilferage measures and maintain audit-ready cash accountability
- Identify and report currency quality issues and discrepancies
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical records of all transactions
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders for currency quality control initiatives
Minimum Requirements
- Higher National Diploma in Banking/Accounting/Business Administration
- 2 years’ experience in cash handling or financial operations
- Advanced currency verification competencies
- Security clearance eligibility for high-value cash environments
