The Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) is seeking a qualified and experienced HR Generalist to join our team at the Head Office in Johannesburg. This is a re-advertisement, and we invite suitable candidates to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of human resources functions, providing comprehensive support to the organization. Your duties will include:
- Recruitment and Selection: Coordinate the full recruitment cycle from start to finish. This includes creating and posting job advertisements, screening applications, scheduling and conducting interviews, and providing timely feedback to candidates.
- Onboarding: Manage the complete onboarding process for new employees, ensuring all compliance documentation is completed and conducting comprehensive induction programmes.
- Employee Relations: Address employee queries, grievances, and disputes through fair and transparent engagement processes. Handle labour relations matters, workplace conflicts, disciplinary procedures, and terminations in line with organizational policies and labour law.
- HR Administration: Maintain accurate employment records and personnel files. Ensure all compliance documentation is properly managed and readily available for audits. Handle all HR administrative tasks efficiently.
- Benefits Management: Administer employee benefits including medical aid, pension funds, and leave entitlements. Manage conditions of service and service benefits for all staff members.
- Policy Development: Assist in developing, reviewing, and ensuring implementation of human resources policies, procedures, and processes across the organization.
- Training and Development: Coordinate training programmes and career development initiatives. Track employee progression, identify performance gaps, and create opportunities for leadership development.
- Performance Management: Coordinate Performance Management Systems, Job Evaluation processes, and Induction Programmes to ensure organizational effectiveness.
- Skills Development: Drive and implement Skills Development Programmes including staff bursaries and other educational support initiatives.
- Reporting: Generate comprehensive HR reports providing insights into workforce demographics, employment equity progress, and training impact for management decision-making.
- Advisory Role: Provide professional advice to management and staff on all human resources policies, processes, and procedures.
- Transformation and Wellness: Support workplace wellness programmes, employment equity initiatives, transformation efforts, employee engagement activities, and diversity programmes.
- Data Management: Ensure confidential handling of all employee data, maintaining strict compliance with organizational and legal requirements. Maintain proficiency in HR Systems & Data Management.
- Stakeholder Relations: Maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders including employees, management, and external partners.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Coordinate and manage all HR-related ad hoc activities as required by the organization.
Required Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Matric plus a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Human Resources.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of HR Generalist experience in a dynamic, policy-driven environment.
- Licence: Valid driver’s licence.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and HR SAGE system.

- Advantageous: Public sector experience or exposure to transformation policies will be highly beneficial.
